We repair, overhaul and resonance tune oboes, clarinets, bassoons and saxophones whereas our experiences and the aspects of resonance tuning are in the focus of our work.
If possible we use our own high quality Quartz Resonance Pads (QRP) or Leather Pads with a core of carbon fiber silicone which are produced in-house and show excellent acoustic properties, are dimensionally absolutely stable and are built to last for decades.
The keywork should be free of clearance which we achieve through bushing. The keys are put on bearing bushes made of synthetic material or grenadilla to eliminate bothering frequencies and clink noises by avoiding metal to metal contact. Bushing also supersedes the common lengthening of the key's tubes by pushing (and thereby damaging) them.
When using Quartz Resonance Pads (QRP) clarinets will have installed grenadilla guides. They ensure on the one hand that there will be no metal to metal contact, on the other hand the vulnerable long keys get a real guidance not being affordable with conventional solutions.
We only use materials that are appropriate and stay constant during a long period of time while strictly avoiding resonance-killing materials (like felt, several adhesives or synthetic materials already during new construction or repairing).
